Objectives:

Experimental development of technologies and new solutions to improve the operation of wind turbines, mitigating the limitations on their performance and energy generation, ensuring safe and efficient functioning in extreme weather conditions and likewise, facilitating the adoption of these new solutions in new markets.

Description:

The use of wind turbines in extreme weather conditions, when ice can form on the blades, has been a problem up until now, as this has limited their performance and the amount of energy they can generate. In order to guarantee safe and efficient operation in these types of weather conditions, this project has developed anti-icing coatings for wind turbines based on nanotechnology.
