The structural framework of the programme has a three-pillar structure: scientific excellence, global challenges and industrial competitiveness, breaking down clusters and innovating Europe. Furthermore, there exists a transversal axis, whose objective is to increase the participation and to strengthen the European Space of Investigation. The work programmes are based on the strategic programme that defines the political and thematic priorities.

The European Commission (EC) has published the final work programs for the last two years of Horizon Europe. These programs allow stakeholders to prepare in advance for upcoming proposal calls; however, it is important to note that they are provisional documents and may be subject to change. Only the final versions published in the EU Funding and Tenders Portal, once adopted by the EC, will be legally valid. Therefore, modifications to the topics, their description or scope, as well as adjustments to budgets, opening and closing dates, or the inclusion of new elements, may occur before official approval. During 2024, AIMPLAS participated in 299 R&D&I projects, of which 97 are international, involving 652 companies, of which 486 are SMEs, generating a return in companies of 83.6 million euros. In the H2020 framework programme, it executed 45 projects with an average duration of 44 months, of which 16 were coordinated from the centre, with a success rate of 14% of the proposals presented, maintaining the 14th position in Spain of entities with the most activities led. In the Horizon Europe Framework Programme, AIMPLAS participates in 40 initiatives, 8 of which are led by the centre.

At AIMPLAS, we promote participation in the framework programme with the preparation of proposals that allow the maturing of new technologies, accompanying the companies in all the phases of preparation and subsequent execution, helping them in the constitution of committees with other European partners. Furthermore, the access to public financing, with its participation within the Horizon Europe framework programme, will allow it to continue being competitive, establishing networks of collaboration and sharing the risks of R&D developments.
