okPlast has established itself as a benchmark event in news and trends on legislation for the plastics sector
AIMPLAS has organized the II edition of okPlast that will take place on February 27 and 28, 2018. The second edition consolidates this event, whose objective is to provide a global overview on legislative innovations and trends for plastic materials in different sectors. Following the attendance success of its first edition in 2016, this year the event will be focused in dealing with issues that were not discussed in last edition and updating of regulations that have undergone changes during these two years. The speakers will include international recognized experts in the subjects presented, as well as by the representatives of the main administrations.

In particular, topical issues like those ones related to substances such as titanium dioxide and its relation with plastics; nanomaterials; the legislative situation of bisphenol A in different countries; etc, will be brought to the table. Moreover, horizontal subjects such as those related to the circular economy, foreign trade and the standardisation will be also discussed.
Due to the high interest for the sector, the forum will focus on all issues related to food contact materials, both in the current legislation in non-European countries and topical subjects such as the management of non-intentionally added substances (NIAS), mineral oils and the use of recycled plastic materials.
In order to discuss all these subjects, the forum has been structured in two days and six blocks of presentations. The first one will offer a general approach on legislation in the plastics sector. The second one will present the news about REACH and later, the third one will address issues related to product standardization. The first day will conclude with a section dedicated to specific measurements about plastic products.
The second day will focus entirely on food contact materials (FCMs) in two different sections, which will include one dedicated to general food contact legislation and another one focused specifically in plastic materials.
This complete programme will allow attendees to know in depth the legal measurements that may affect them and how implement them, as well as future developments and the possibilities of application to their companies.
