AYUDAS I+D

Circular Bio‑based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), the public‑private partnership under Horizon Europe dedicated to accelerating the development and deployment of circular, bio‑based and economically viable solutions, has published its Annual Work Programme 2026, which includes a new project call with a total budget of €170.7 million.

This initiative supports Europe’s strategy to strengthen a sustainable and competitive bioeconomy by promoting biotechnology, biomanufacturing and circular value chains as key elements of the green and industrial transition.

The 2026 Work Programme includes 13 thematic areas, ranging from flagship industrial biorefineries to research projects that foster feedstock diversification, the implementation of circular design, the scale‑up of biotechnology to industrial levels and the transfer of solutions to the market.

The call will open on 23 April 2026 and will remain open until 22 September 2026 at 17:00 (CET), the deadline for submitting proposals.

To support proposal preparation, CBE JU has scheduled several pre‑call activities:

  • CBE JU Online Info Day – 12 March 2026
  • Networking Event in Brussels – 21 April 2026

In addition, the CBE JU networking platform enables participants to find partners and form consortia ahead of the call.

In the current CBE programme, AIMPLAS participates in 10 projects, 4 of which are led by the centre. In the previous programme, when the initiative operated as the Bio‑Based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU), AIMPLAS took part in 8 projects, coordinating 2 of them.

At AIMPLAS, we actively promote participation in this and other international programmes by supporting the preparation of proposals that drive the maturation of new technologies. We assist companies throughout all stages of the process—from idea definition and consortium building to project execution—facilitating collaboration with strategic European partners.

Access to international public funding offers organisations the opportunity to strengthen their competitiveness in global markets, expand and consolidate strategic collaboration networks, and mitigate the risks inherent to R&D activities, thus fostering more robust and sustainable long‑term innovation.

Tell us about your idea, and we will find the best strategy to turn it into a successful European project.
