AIMPLAS to present innovative agricultural films biodegradable in soil at Agricultural Film

Following the success of the 10th edition of Agricultural Film, which brought together more than 200 professionals from 40 countries, this year is an unmissable event for the sector.

Agricultural Film 2018 will take place on 17-19 September at Meliá Castilla hotel in Madrid. At this international conference, organized by AMI, the results of researches and potential solutions to problems that the agricultural sector is facing nowadays will be tackled.

AIMPLAS will take part in this meeting with the presentation ‘New developments suitable for agricultural films biodegradable in soil conditions’, to be made by Chelo Escrig, head of the Extrusion Department of AIMPLAS.

Furthermore, AIMPLAS will have a stand, where they will be informing about its projects and developments suitable for the agricultural industry.

  • Plastic materials with new functionalities (biocidal, antimicrobial and anti-thermal agents, light diffusers, etc.).
  • Replacement of virgin plastic materials by recycled materials.
  • New projects related to biodegradable materials in soil to be used in the agricultural sector (micro-irrigation pipes; staking twines for plant cultivation; mulch film and packaging nets.)

The technology centre will also show to the participating companies its offer in technical assessment solutions (technical problems’ resolution, taylor-made materials using chemical and/or physical modifications, improvement of product recyclability, expert reports and legislation, among others) and the capacities of its laboratory, leader in number of ENAC accreditations according to ISO 17025).

Agricultural Film will bring together professionals from the agricultural and horticultural sector, raw material and film manufacturers, research centres, educational institutions, cooperatives, manufacturers, associations and public and private bodies devoted to agriculture in a working forum in which the main challenges of the industry will be discussed.
