Our solutions for the printing industry

Functional printing

  • New features added to printed materials:
    • Traceability, monitoring and anti-counterfeiting solutions.
    • Enhanced material properties: barrier, antimicrobial, physical-mechanical, surface, optical, and friction properties.
    • Printing of visual indicators: process temperature, cold-chain breakage, time-temperature, freshness, humidity and leakage.
  • Development of active and smart packaging labels.
  • Printing of flexible electronic components: RFID antennas, printed circuits, resistors, electroluminescence, sensors.

Development of inks and varnishes with advanced properties

  • Development of new inks, varnishes and lacquers with new features and enhanced properties
    • Conductive inks.
    • Gas barrier coatings.
    • Bactericidal, insecticidal and repellent coatings.
  • Development of visual indicators: time-temperature, freshness, humidity, leakage, etc.
  • New product development: analysis of the interaction between the substrate, ink, and machine. Selection of the best combination of materials and processes.

Sustainable printing

  • Development of sustainable inks and substrates: water-based inks, renewable source coatings, eco-friendly solvents, biodegradable substrates.
  • Environmental impact assessment: carbon footprint and life cycle analysis.
  • Eco-design and reduction of the environmental impact generated by the product and during the printing process.
  • Upgrading the recyclability of printed substrates through decontamination techniques.

Analysis of printed material properties

  • Optical properties: measurement and comparison of colour, gloss, transparency.
  • Physical and mechanical resistance of printed inks and varnishes: adhesion, abrasion, scrub resistance, tensile strength, tearing, puncture resistance, impact resistance, etc. Analysis of ink and varnish migration onto packaging substrates and labels used with food.
  • Analysis of multilayer structures, thicknesses and materials used.
  • Accelerated ageing tests.
  • Biodegradability and compostability tests.
