NANOHÁBITAT

Functionalised nanomaterials for the construction and housing industries

Project partners
8 companies and 5 technology centres
Responsable

Objectives

Development of new materials based on nanotechnology for use in the construction and housing sectors, creating products with new functionalities.

Description

The project has carried out industrial research into new materials using nanotechnology to develop new products for the construction and housing sectors. The aim is to add new functionalities to traditional materials, such as smart solutions to prevent corrosion, new optical properties, biocide capacity, superhydrophobicity, superoleophobicity, fire resistance, and the capacity to dissipate static charges. Another objective of the project was the implementation of new industrial manufacturing processes using low-energy nanomaterials with no environmental impact by applying green chemical processes.
