ETRA is an independent, member-driven European Association open to those involved in the diverse activities that contribute to the tyre recycling industry. It originated from a project created in 1990 and funded in 1992 to unify the disparate elements of tyre recycling in Europe. ETRA’s mission is to formalize tyre recycling as an independent, multi-sectoral industry engaged in a comprehensive chain of activities aimed at protecting the environment and enhancing quality of life through the creation of new businesses and jobs. This is achieved through focused advocacy and cooperative actions to improve professional standards and develop quality guidelines for products and materials. A key goal is to promote cost-effective, environmentally sound, and commercially viable tyre recycling activities. ETRA closely collaborates with material and product developers and participates in a variety of EU and state-funded projects to explore and exploit new markets.

More than 30 years of experience in the plastics industry. We provide solutions to companies throughout the value chain, from raw material manufacturers to plastic processors and end users. Our purpose is twofold:
- We add value to companies so that they can create wealth and provide employment.
- We work to solve the challenges facing the use of plastic in today’s society in order to improve people’s quality of life and ensure environmental sustainability.
