The ECHA launches a new public consultation on some chemical compounds

Last 27 April, the European Chemicals Agency launched some new public consultations on the use of chemical compounds in 29 different applications to authorize 47 uses.
The chemical compounds involved are:
- Chromium VI compounds, 1,2-dichloroethane (EDC) (EC 203-458-1; CAS 107-06-2).
- Bis(2-methoxyethyl) ether (Diglyme) (EC 203-924-4; CAS 111-96-6).
- Formaldehyde, oligomeric reaction products with aniline (Technical MDA) (EC 500-036-1; CAS 25214-70-4).
For instance, chromium VI is commonly used in the plastics industry, since it is used in the rotogravure technique.
By means of this consultation, some factors are being studied, such as how they work, the existence of alternative compounds, socio-economic interesting information, etc.
The consultation deadline ends this summer and the results will be available soon.
