MeetingPack, the biennial meeting organised by AIMPLAS and AINIA that brings together the entire packaging value chain, will hold its seventh edition on 21 and 22 April 2026. The event will take place at the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe (City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia) under the title Barrier Packaging Solutions: a Challenge for the Circular Economy, MeetingPack 2026 will once again address the challenges and opportunities that the circular economy poses to the food barrier packaging sector.

Programme

A session dedicated to the presentation of innovative and sustainable raw materials proposed as alternatives to conventional materials. The session will cover developments based on renewable sources, as well as materials that are recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable at the end of their useful life.

A space oriented to the exhibition of advanced technical solutions for the design and manufacture of sustainable flexible barrier packaging. Proposals that combine functionality, safety and efficiency in the preservation of the product, minimizing its environmental impact, will be analyzed.

This session will focus on innovation in rigid barrier packaging, with special attention to solutions that provide sustainability without compromising product protection and preservation. Advances in materials, structures and designs aimed at meeting market and regulatory requirements will be presented.

Round table with the participation of companies and groups from the food sector that will share their vision on the packaging strategies needed to achieve the objectives established in the 40/2025 Law. Recyclability, recycled content, bioplastics, reuse models and other associated challenges will be discussed.

Session dedicated to exploring solutions for reusable packaging, including sanitization technologies, circular use models, applicable legislation and business opportunities. Real cases and strategies for integrating reusability into food value chains will be discussed.

Presentation of new developments in the management, separation and recycling of barrier packaging. Technical and regulatory aspects related to the use of recycled materials in food contact will be addressed, as well as emerging technologies applicable to the recycling of multilayer plastics.

Round table with representatives of retail companies, associations of the distribution sector and consumer organizations. The main challenges and needs to meet the 2030 packaging targets will be addressed from the perspective of the entire value chain.
