Printing technologies and coatings

Impresión

Today, printing technologies can deposit functional materials onto different substrates (plastics, metal, wood, cardboard, glass and textiles), bringing significant advantages when compared to traditional printing.

The inks, varnishes, lacquers and coatings used in printing and finishing processes can now be utilized to add optical, mechanical and physical properties to substrates and integrate chromium-active, conductive, semiconductor and dielectric functionalities, among others.

In AIMPLAS, we work both to add value to traditional printed products, and to develop new products and materials with advanced properties to be printed or deposited by the main industrial techniques.

Our solutions

  • Incorporation of new functionalities in traditional printed products: traceability, monitoring, anti-counterfeiting, etc.
  • Addition of barrier, bactericidal, mechanical and surface properties.
  • Development of smart packaging and labels.
  • Development of active packaging.
  • Development of inks, paints, varnishes and lacquers with new functionalities and improved properties.
  • Development of indicators: time-temperature, freshness, humidity, leakage, etc.
  • Printing and integration of electronic components in plastic materials.
  • Obtaining light and flexible electronic devices: RFID antennas, printed circuits, heating elements, etc.
  • Study and determination of optimal dispersion conditions of additives, fillers and/or nanomaterials in polymer matrices.
  • Technical and economic feasibility studies for the development of new products.
  • Substrate/ink/machine interaction analysis: selection of the most suitable combination of materials and processes for the development of new products.
  • Printing of demonstrators in small batches.
  • Compliance with the legislation applicable to printed products (food contact, waste management, labelling, emissions, etc.).
  • Printed product sustainability: eco-design, biodegradable materials, recyclability, product life cycle analysis and carbon footprint calculation.
