RecyClass Recycled Content
Certifies the pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled plastic content of a product.
RecyClass Recycled Content is a certification aimed at compounders and converters of plastic material. It provides companies with a certificate for each of their products that specifies the amount of recycled material included in the end product, as well as the percentage of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled material it contains.
To be eligible for certification, the recycler supplying the recycled material must have RecyClass Recycling Process certification.
This scheme is also focused on studying and validating the traceability of the conversion process, and verifying the percentage of recycled material used and how it is incorporated into the process. All this is validated in an on-site audit on the company’s premises.
The audit process is carried out in line with standard EN 15343 and the principles of the controlled blending chain of custody model as defined in ISO 22095.
This certification is aligned with standard EN-15343, so that all materials with this certification can reduce the amount of plastics tax paid on the percentage of recycled material in the product. This is a great advantage for consumers who buy the products because they benefit from a legal reduction of the tax. At the same time, transparency with the customer is promoted by specifying the recycling processes and the formulation of the materials involved in the manufacturing process.
