Objectives:

Development of a textile sensor to detect deformations in structures based on polymeric nanofibers functionalized with carbon nanotubes (CNTs), in the shape of nanonet (“nonwoven fabric” – bidimensional) and filament yarn (unidimensional) for its integration in flexible and rigid substrates.

Description:

In this project, polymeric nanofibers doped with nanofillers allowing to provide additional functionality to the polymeric material, such as electrical and thermal conductivity, piezoresistivity, etc. were used. The applications of these new multifunction materials in the transport sector are unlimited, but among them, we can stress the development of neural networks of piezoresistive sensors for their application in the characterization of structural damage.
