The main objective of this project is the development of an ultrahydrophobic coating that prevents the accumulation of ice and snow on metallic structures.


The activities performed during the project have generated knowledge on the surface modification of nanoparticles together with the development of ultrahydrophobic coatings. Together with small-scale development of coatings, larger projects with companies from different sectors can now be carried out. Thanks to this project, aircraft manufacturers will have a product at their disposal that will reduce costs by replacing heavy anti-icing systems with lighter options.
