Objectives:

The main objective of this project is the development of a ultrahydrophobic coating able to avoid ice and snow accumulation on metallic structures.

Description:

The activities performed during the project have allowed to gain knowledge on the surface modification of nanoparticles together with the development of ultrahydrophobic coatings. Together with the development, on a small scale, of coatings, it will allow to carry out larger projects with companies from different sectors. Besides, through this project, aircraft manufacturers have at their disposal the previous development of a product with which costs will be saved by replacing certain heavy anti-icing systems by others lighter.
