PLASREC 2025 – 3rd International Seminar on Plastics Recycling

Presentation

Recycling and, in general, the recovery of plastic waste is the biggest current challenge for the implementation of a circular economy model that allows the use of waste as resources and, in turn, as new and more sustainable raw materials to boost the European economy.
In this seminar, we will address the current challenges and opportunities related to the management and recycling of plastic waste by reviewing the related legislation and regulations and analyzing the different existing recycling technologies, their application in the market, as well as their trends. In addition, the changes needed to achieve the European targets for recycling content in the different sectors will be analyzed.
Programme
Topics

Legal context. Challenges for companies in terms of legislation. Trends in the plastics recycling and processing sector.

Waste collection and sorting technologies. AI applied to waste management. EPR.

Physical, mechanical, chemical, thermal and enzymatic recycling technologies. New processes and trends. Success stories.

Recycling legislation and recycling content by sector. Strategies of companies in the different sectors to meet the challenges of the legislation.
