Companies that manufacture composites with long curing times need to optimize their production cycles to speed up piece and part manufacturing. Likewise, the reduction of emissions to obtain products that are more environmentally friendly has become a priority for sustainably aware companies.

In AIMPLAS, we have developed the required technology for the polymerization of thermosetting resins (such as polyester, vinylester and epoxy) by means of electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range.

Demonstrators have enabled us to validate this technology in the wind, boat and aeronautics industries, with a 40% reduction in the curing cycles of epoxy composites and an 85% reduction in styrene emissions in the manufacture of polyester composites.
