The plastics sector is one of the most highly regulated industries. At times, this means that companies are not aware of all their legal obligations. In this industry, companies must be up to date on new legislation so they have enough time to make changes affecting company activity. They also need specialized advice on legislation on plastics in order to avoid being fined or even closed down.
The demand for bioplastics is increasing exponentially, and a wide range of biodegradable and/or compostable products is now available. According to the latest market data compiled
AIMPLAS has joined UNE, the Spanish Association for Standardisation, as a member, which is made up of more than 500 members that represent the business fabric of Spain.
In the plastics sector, tenders are processes of interest for a number of companies from various points of view: as a product supplier, as a service provider, as an innovation provider.
Continuing on from the standardisation work that began last year after the introduction of UNE 53928 “Plastics. Reusable polypropylene cups for food use. Definition and test method”, the same standardisation work group CTN 53/SC 4/GT 4 has tasked itself with introducing a new edition of this standard, however this time with the proposition of increasing its scope to include all types of reusable plastic dishes.
The growing market of recycled plastics is increasingly adopting the use of testing and product standards that are used and interpreted by all the agents of the value chain.
