AIMPLAS, European Plastics Converters and Polymer Comply Europe to host workshop on producing flexible semi-finished products using extrusion technologies

Category: Plastics industry training and events

AIMPLAS is organizing a training course in collaboration with European Plastics Converters (EuPC) and Polymer Comply Europe (PCE) on the production of flexible semi-finished products using extrusion technologies. It will be held on 24 September 2019 in Brussels (Belgium).

The workshop is aimed at company technical staff members interested in strengthening their knowledge of extrusion processes, control processes and technologies for the production of flexible semi-finished products. The main objective of the course is to help participants understand the importance of monitoring parameters in extrusion processes and learn about specific parameters and troubleshooting techniques inherent to blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion and co-extrusion.

To do so, the workshop’s aims include identifying the parameters of extrusion processes, highlighting the need and advantages of process monitoring, understanding the effect of process parameters on the performance of the plastic material and the quality of the final product, understanding the importance of screw selection in the plastic material’s melting behaviour, identifying the different components of blown film and cast film extrusion lines, and identifying possible defects in the final product and ways to solve them.

The workshop will be given by Rosa González and Vicent Martínez, researchers at the AIMPLAS Extrusion Department. It will take place at the PCE Conference Centre in Brussels (Belgium) from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
